Terms of Use
Last updated: October 2026.
Version 2026-10-26.
This is a courtesy translation. The Norwegian text is the binding version; in case of conflict the Norwegian version prevails.
These terms apply between Malloc AS (org. no. 981893557, «Macct» or «we») and you as a user of the Macct service («the customer», «you»). By registering a company or logging in you accept the terms.
1. About the service
Macct is a Norwegian accounting system for small businesses (NRS 8 / NS 4102), delivered as SaaS over the internet. Features include voucher entry, invoicing, VAT reporting, payroll, tax returns and A-melding (PAYE).
2. Account, users and password
- You must be over 18 years of age and be permitted to act on behalf of the company.
- The company is validated against the Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises (Brønnøysundregistrene) at registration.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secret. Macct can never see your password — it is stored only as a cryptographic hash.
- If you suspect misuse, change your password immediately and contact firmapost@macct.no.
3. Price and payment
- Macct costs NOK 250 per month per registered company. You choose how to pay:
Card or Klarna – billed monthly and renewed automatically until you cancel. The amount is charged at the start of each period. Payments are processed by Stripe (and by Klarna when you choose Klarna); Macct does not store your card or payment details.
Vipps or invoice – prepaid for 1–12 months at a time, with no automatic renewal. Each extension counts from the date the subscription would otherwise have expired, or from the payment date if it has already expired.
- You can cancel a card or Klarna subscription at any time under Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and paid time is not refunded. You can undo the cancellation before the period ends. If you have prepaid time when you start such a subscription, the first payment is taken only once that time is used up.
- If a payment fails, we retry and notify you so you can update your payment method. Access continues for 14 days from the start of the period. If payment still has not gone through, the same rules as for expiry apply.
- Once the subscription has expired, filing to Altinn and the Tax Administration is closed until it is extended; login and export of existing data remain available. Accounting data is not deleted automatically on expiry.
- No lock-in period — you can cancel at any time.
4. Your responsibility for content
- You own all the accounting data you enter into Macct. It remains yours even if the subscription ends.
- You are responsible for vouchers, invoices and reports being correct. Macct helps enforce accounting rules, but gives no guarantee against human error or against your own interpretation of the rules.
- You must verify tax returns, VAT returns and A-meldinger (PAYE reports) yourself before they are sent to the Norwegian Tax Administration / Altinn. Macct never submits automatically — explicit approval is required at every step.
- Posted vouchers and sent invoices cannot be changed or deleted (the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act, bokføringsloven § 10 + § 9). Corrections are made by reversal or credit note. Changes to customers, suppliers, employees and settings are logged automatically with a before/after snapshot.
5. Personal data and GDPR
- Macct is the data controller for account information (email address, name, login log) and the data processor for the accounting data you enter.
- The accounting data is stored in the EU/EEA (the Hetzner data centres in Helsinki, Finland and Falkenstein, Germany). Storing electronic accounting material within the EEA is permitted under the Norwegian Bookkeeping Regulation, bokføringsforskriften § 7-5. The party subject to the bookkeeping obligation must itself notify the tax office in writing which accounting material is stored abroad and where. The material is available in legible form at all times and can be printed out from Norway.
- We use the following data processors/sub-processors to deliver the service: Hetzner Online GmbH (operations/hosting, EU/EEA), Neonomics AS (PSD2 bank connection, optional add-on), Stripe Payments Europe Ltd (payment of the subscription by card or Klarna), Klarna Bank AB (when you choose Klarna), Anthropic (AI: reading documents you upload, posting suggestions and the assistant — the document, the voucher text or your question and the answers from the assistant's tools are sent to Anthropic for processing in the USA; the accounts are stored in the EU/EEA), Google (sign-in with Google, and usage measurement without cookies, see below), Finshark (PSD2 bank connection, optional add-on), Recommand (BRBX BV, Belgium — Peppol access point for electronic invoices), and Domene.no (email provider, Norway — sending invoices, payslips and notifications, and receiving vouchers by email). Beyond that we never share data with third parties, except where it is required to operate the service or for your own use (Brønnøysundregistrene for company validation, Norges Bank for exchange rates, Altinn/the Norwegian Tax Administration for submissions you have approved). A data processing agreement is entered into on request.
- We measure the use of the website and of the application itself with Google Analytics. The measurement is done without cookies — we neither store anything on nor read anything from your device, and you are therefore not asked to consent to it. What is sent is which page was opened, the time, and the ordinary technical information your browser provides, including IP address and browser type. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing which parts of the service are used, so that we can improve it. The page path is stripped of ids before it is sent (/faktura/1042 becomes /faktura/:id), so that Google learns which pages are used, never which vouchers, invoices or customers you have. Accounting content is never sent. Advertising features and Google Signals are switched off.
- Newsletter. If you have an active account with a confirmed email address in a company that uses Macct in production, you will now and then receive a newsletter about new features and changes in Macct. It is sent because you are a customer, and it is only about Macct. Test and demo companies do not receive it. For the sending we use only your email address and language choice, and the newsletter goes through the same email provider as invoices and notifications. We do not measure whether the newsletter is opened or which links you click, and we do not share your address with anyone. At the bottom of every newsletter is a link that unsubscribes you with one click, without signing in. We store when you unsubscribed, and you can subscribe again from the same page.
- You can at any time ask for an export of all your data, or for full deletion. Both are done within 30 days. Note that accounting material covered by the statutory retention obligation (the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act, bokføringsloven § 13, 5 years) is not deleted until the obligation has expired, even if the subscription ends. The obligation is yours as the party required to keep accounts — Macct stores the material on your behalf.
6. Limited liability
- Macct is provided "as is". We aim for high uptime, but give no guarantee of fault-free operation.
- Our liability is limited to 12 months of subscription fees (3,000 NOK) per incident, unless mandatory Norwegian law provides otherwise.
- We are not liable for indirect loss, including lost income, delayed submission or fines from the Norwegian Tax Administration caused by errors in your own use of the service.
7. Changes
We may change the terms by notifying you by email 30 days in advance. In the event of material changes (e.g. a higher price) you may terminate with no period of notice before the new terms take effect.
8. Governing law and jurisdiction
Norwegian law applies. Disputes are settled by the ordinary courts, with Oslo District Court as the agreed venue.
